Our Story

Founded in 2017, High Country Advisors is designed to be there for the quiet moments with the leaders of investment organizations as they face bright futures, difficult choices, and all the days in-between. Most often our work comes at moments of launch or transition.

At the heart of our work serving both investment managers and asset owners is John-Austin Saviano’s nearly 25 years in the institutional investment community. Beyond just serving as an allocator and CIO, he has been a part of two ten-figure endowment launches, backed over 40 Challenger firms, and been the trusted advisor to investment organizations going through launch, growth, or change.

The through-line across all of our work is a deep passion of the practice of investment management and for helping great investors deliver outstanding results over long time horizons.

Our Approach

We work with a deliberately narrow set of organizations, bringing pattern recognition, problem solving, and the reach of an expansive network. We support leaders through iterative, Socratic engagement that is focused on finding the right solutions and outcomes for each particular circumstance.
